Day 4

I spent a good four hours on this painting tonight.  Looking forward to five hours tomorrow working on it.  I hope is to have it done by the September 20th.  Now that I'm teaching again, my hours are now down to three to four hours during the week and ten hours on the weekend.

In Progress

Traveling with my wife to the teacher store a few weeks ago, I came across the little guy.  I had to take him home to paint him, but my daughter called dibs on him when the painting is complete. She is currently counting down the days for me to get it done.

"Outbreak"

This one is fresh off the easel.  I still need to wait about a week before I glaze a darker gray on the wall. As soon as that's done, I'll be shipping it off to the John Pence Gallery for my art exhibition this November.

78th National Midyear Exhibition

It was a great honor to have my painting "Genesis Of An Artist" on display at the Butler Institute of American Art.  This museum is truly a gem in the town of Youngstown, Ohio and has a wonderful list of famous American artists such as Winslow Homer and William Harnett.  The exhibition spotlighted some of the best contemporary American artists around and I'm very fortunate to have my artwork on the wall along side them.  The show comes down on September 7th and goes back to the John Pence Gallery for my one man show on November 7th.

In Progress

Six days into this painting now, and I'm ready to move to another one. I need more focus in order for me to finish this in the next two weeks.

Flashback

This is a flashback from a 1988 Southern High School yearbook. I think the major change for me is that I had hair. The landscape painting currently hangs in my mother's living room and the lower painting was a commission for a bank. In 1989, I graduated from Southern with a great deal of paintings in my portfolio for college. Thank you Mr. Washington, Mr. Minor, and Mr. Gohn for being great art teachers and helping me develop my passion.

Fresh Beets

I just finished this painting last month.  Its next stop will be the John Pence Gallery in beautiful San Francisco.  I'm working hard to prepare for my art exhibition this year on November 7th.
